🍲 Stewed Pork Chops
Total Time: 45–50 minutes
Yield: 4 servings
Ingredients
- 4 bone-in or boneless pork chops (about 1 inch thick)
- 2–3 tbsp Truly Delicious Foods Original Blend
- 1 tbsp olive or avocado oil
- 1 tbsp ketchup or 1 tbsp tomato puree
- ¾ cup water (add more if you want more gravy)
- 1 tsp browning (optional, for deeper color)
- Salt and black pepper to taste
- 1 tbsp butter or oil (optional, for richer sauce)
Instructions
1. Marinate
Season pork chops with Truly Delicious Foods Original Blend, salt, and pepper.
Massage well, cover, and let sit for 30 minutes.
After marinating, remove some of the vegetable bits from the pork chops — this prevents burning during browning.
Reserve the leftover marinade (you’ll add it back later).
2. Brown the Pork
Heat oil in a skillet or Dutch oven over medium-high heat.
Add the pork chops and brown on both sides until golden (about 2–3 minutes per side).
Remove and set aside.
3. Make the Stew Base
In the same pan, add a little butter (optional).
Stir in ketchup or tomato puree and a splash of water to deglaze the pan.
Add the reserved Original Blend marinade and stir well.
4. Stew the Pork
Return the pork chops to the pan.
Add ¾ cup water (or enough to cover halfway).
Add browning if desired for color.
Cover and let simmer on low heat for 20–25 minutes, turning occasionally, until pork is tender and the sauce thickens.
5. Finish & Serve
Taste and adjust salt if needed.
Serve with white rice, mashed potatoes, or fried plantains.
Garnish with fresh parsley if desired.
