Oven-Baked Chicken with Gravy

🍗 Oven-Baked Chicken with Gravy

Yield: 4 servings

Ingredients:

  • 3 lbs chicken pieces (legs, thighs, or breasts)
  • 2–3 tbsp Truly Delicious Foods Original Blend or Jamaican Jerk Seasoning (Mild or Hot)
  • 1 tbsp avocado oil (optional)
  • Salt to taste
  • 1 tbsp butter
  • 1 tbsp flour
  • 1 cup chicken broth or water

Instructions:

  1. Prep the Chicken:

    Clean and pat dry chicken pieces.
  2. Season:
    Rub chicken with oil, salt, and Truly Delicious Foods seasoning of choice.

    Let marinate for at least 2 hours or overnight for richer flavor.
  3. Bake:
    Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).

    Place seasoned chicken skin-side up in a baking dish.

    Cover with foil and bake for 35 minutes.

    Remove foil, spoon some of the pan juices over the chicken, and bake uncovered for another 15–20 minutes, until golden brown and cooked through (165°F internal temperature).
  4. Make the Gravy:
    Remove the baked chicken and place the baking dish on the stovetop (or pour the pan drippings into a skillet).

    Add 1 tbsp butter to the pan juices and stir.

    Sprinkle 1 tbsp flour, whisking constantly to form a smooth paste.

    Gradually add 1 cup broth or water, stirring until the gravy thickens to your liking.

    Taste and adjust salt if needed.
  5. Serve:

    Pour the rich gravy over the baked chicken. Garnish with chopped parsley or thyme (optional).

    Serve hot with rice, mashed potatoes, or vegetables.
